Why I am a part of Cannabis Danmark: In my opinion, if you have the skills, you have a duty to help society. Therefore, I was a founder of Medical Cannabis Association Denmark in 2014, after my own father used cannabis to relieve his cancer disease. I use my knowledge from there in Cannabis Danmark so that can we get organized conditions for all patients who can benefit from cannabis for medicinal use, comprehensive research in the field and to get Denmark all the way to the major league in regards to cannabis for medicinal use as an entire plant.

Marianne JensenMarianne Højgaard Jensen – Secretariat (volunteer)
Has worked with vulnerable children and young people with special needs incl. judgment sanctions. Special support person in family cases where young people with social and mental problems are challenged due to abuse. Since 2013, Marianne has established contact with international patient networks through the online social media, where user experiences and knowledge with cannabis for medicinal use are shared. In 2014, she created a Facebook group for parents of children and adolescents. Initiator of the association Cannabis Danmark. Has for ten years used cannabis for medicinal purposes herself due to neuropathy and dystonia.

Why I am a part of Cannabis Danmark: We must collect funds for Danish researchers who show interest in the cannabis plant. Bridge building and exchange of knowledge with other countries that have been researching the cannabis plant for years has to be established. Denmark has an opportunity to take the lead in the Nordic countries and contribute to an interaction which will be beneficial to the whole population. Danish cultivation of the plant for medicinal use should be seen as the way forward for generations to come.

Vibeke Sørensen  – freelance

MA, English and Communication. 15 years of experience in coordination, communication and marketing a well as web and design. Vibeke is in charge of member service, website, graphic design, newsletters, LinkedIn, translation and various administrative tasks.

Why I am a part of Cannabis Danmark: It is important to me to make a difference in my work and my life. I have seen very positive effects on several people who have used medicinal cannabis to relieve pain among other things. I think it is time that we address and hopefully get rid of the stigmatisation of this amazing plant, so that patients can benefit from it without being looked down upon or be forced to turn to crime to get help.
